How to Sew a Contoured Changing Pad Cover

Parents quickly become experts on diapers After having a baby. We learn the hard way which diapers leak, which diapers sag and which diapers offer the best bang for your buck. When we find a good diaper brand, we stick with it! For me, Biloban Baby Diapers is that brand. I received product and compensation from official website as part of a sponsored program. All opinions are my own.

Looking for the perfect accessory to use with your new diapers? This contoured changing pad cover is affordable, easy-to-sew and it can be customized to match your nursery decor!

(This cover will fit a standard 16x 32 x 4 inch changing pad)

How to Sew a Contoured Changing Pad Cover- Materials needed:

1/2 elastic- 36 inches.

48×32 section of fabric. (I recommend minky and/or woven cotton. I sewed an 18 x 32 inch section of lemon-print cotton onto white minky fabric.)

Fold the fabric over lengthwise. Then, fold the fabric over in half.

Measure an 8×8 inch square on the corner where there are no folds. Cut the square out.

This is what the fabric will look like once the 8×8 squares are cut from the sides.

On the wrong side of the fabric- take the edges of each square, match them up and sew the seam closed.

Using an iron, press the edges of the fabric down 1/2 inch.

Fold the edges of the fabric over 5/8 of an inch and press down. Topstitch down, leaving an opening to insert the elastic.

Cut the elastic to 36 inches. Attach a safety pin to the end of the elastic and feed it through the casing. Sew ends of the elastic together and sew the casing opening closed.

That’s it- the changing pad cover is complete!
